Master SCUBA Diver VS Dive Master

PADI Master SCUBA Diver and PADI Dive Master sound like very similar certifications. People often confuse one for the other. They are similar because holding either certification proves the diver is experienced and has gone through extensive dive training. The actual training for each certification is very different, but equally important to being a well trained diver. Master SCUBA Diver is the highest recreational rating a diver can hold. The diver Must be a Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and hold at least 5 PADI Specialty Diver certifications . Along with the training prerequisites the diver must be 12 years old and have at least 50 logged dives. Only about 2% of PADI divers achieve this rating so it is an Elite certification.
