Master SCUBA Diver VS Dive Master

PADI Master SCUBA Diver and PADI Dive Master sound like very similar certifications. People often confuse one for the other. They are similar because holding either certification proves the diver is experienced and has gone through extensive dive training. The actual training for each certification is very different, but equally important to being a well trained diver.

At APD we also offer all courses on our dive trips around the world and local.

Master SCUBA Diver is the highest recreational rating a diver can hold. The diver Must be a Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and hold at least 5 PADI Specialty Diver certifications. Along with the training prerequisites the diver must be 12 years old and have at least 50 logged dives. Only about 2% of PADI divers achieve this rating so it is an Elite certification. At Atlantic Pro Divers we offer packages to get you there. We dive every weekend at the springs and offshore during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Some of the awesome specialties we offer are Wreck Diver, Deep Diver, Boat Diver, Night Diver, and Underwater Navigation. Plus numerous others!

PADI Dive master is also a prerequisite for PADI Instructor Rating.

The PADI Dive master certification is the first professional rating a diver can hold. The Diver must also be an Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Rescue Diver. The diver can start the program at 18 years of age with 40 dives but must have 60 logged dives to complete the program. This program trains the diver to assist on PADI certification courses and guide certified divers on local and vacation dives. A dive master can make money assisting with courses and guiding tours. WOO HOO! The training consists of assisting on courses, guiding tours, learning to demonstrate all open water skills up to instructor quality, mapping a local dive site, and providing an Emergency Assistance plan. At APD we offer an all-inclusive course that can be completed over a 4 week period depending on the student and course availability. As a DMT, we offer you deals on gear and if you prove yourself we may even hire you :)

If you are ready to take the next step towards these ELITE certifications call or stop by the shop for more information on how to get started. We even have programs for "Zero to Hero" for either certification. Starting with Open Water Certification all the way up to Master SCUBA Diver or Dive master!

What are you waiting for? We guarantee an unforgettable experience above and below the water!
